André - The Voice of Wine is a feature-length documentary that takes us on a dramatic, illuminating, poetic, and wondrous cinematic journey from Russia through Europe to America as we embrace the story of this man, André Tchelistcheff, who devoted his life to the ancient craft of winemaking.   The remarkable tale of a Russian Aristocrat through whose eyes we experience life in Imperial Russia to the upheaval of the revolution where he fought as a Lieutenant in the White Army, on to his years working in France at such places as Moet & Chandon and at the Pasteur Institute in Paris.   From here the film unfolds the beginning of André's journey to the New World.  From his early days in Napa Valley, a life of tragedy and success against the worst odds revealing the inner strength of this modest man whose uncompromising passion pervaded his entire being and who helped move the American wine industry from a virtually moribund state after the repeal of Prohibition on to its renaissance in the second half of the twentieth century.  He had a direct impact and mentored each the California winemakers of the now famous 1976 "Judgement of Paris" blind tasting which staged by Steven Spurrier which turned the world of wine upside down. He was not a businessman, but an artist and scientist whose heart and soul were devoted to wine.  André's philosophy about life and his love for wine influenced generations of wine makers, producers and wine lovers throughout the world.

The story is told through André's own voice and the voices of those who knew him best from the vineyards of California to the beauty of the French wine growing regions to the shores of Tuscany featuring some of the world’s most prominent vintners and winemakers including Miljenko Grgich, Warren Winiarski, Steven Spurrier, Michael Silacci, Rob Davis, Marchese Lodovico Antinori, Count Gelasio Gaetani d'Aragona Lovetelli, Christian Moueix, Greg La Follette and Francis Ford Coppola among others.
